Moments

by George Hoerner

there are moments
when seeing something
at an angle unknown
makes the blood rush
the heart pound
you are looking
at heaven

and other moments

when the rain
feels like rocks
and the clouds
seem to smother
and you want to die

hold all these moments tightly
so they never
leave the memory
except to emerge
like spring
a year later

these are the moments
that make life
worthwhile

This is lovely and thought provoking. The two ends of the spectrum...very well described!

All moments have their value, and whether that value is perceived or not, they ARE the moments that make up a life, no denying that. I'm not necessarily a believer in the whole "you make your own destiny" train of thought, but I do think we have a certain ability to choose which moments we'd like to experience more than others, as well as what we do with how those moments feel to us. Well captured, George!
