it was a Thursday by Charlie Morgan
about now Jimmy Buffet is sipping his third margarita,
probably on one knee, wondering how forever feels.
i just left an area of forever: it was ignororance.
so refreshing, so uplifting, so spiritual.
they closed their mouths, kept the flies out;
listened, nodded, essentially paid attention.
i ran down immediately to see the street signs
to see if i'm in the right town, right time.
sure enough, i was where i thought, it was
just different as we all drank the subject.
i finally had to announce the difference:
we were a college class that made sense
to those without ears, and could be seen
by those without eyes; moments not wasted.

| Posted by Keith McFarlane on 03/20/08 at 08:10 PM too funny, too good -- sounds like you had a roomful of attentive people on your hands! Ain't it grand when you realize that the lights might actually be flickering on? Good stuff as always eh... |
