Muddy Beard ; Faithful Ear

by Elizabeth Seago

Darlin', I know you're feeling broken.
Caught face first in the muck.
Oh, Lord, I know you've been hurtin'.
Cause lately you've been forgettin' how to trust.

But I'll always be right here beside you,
Pull your frame out of the mud.
And even when you're out,
I know you're still feeling hopeless.
Well, darlin', I've got a wet cloth in my pocket
Let me wipe the dirt from that beautiful face.

I know love has been on the forefront of your mind
How you curse it yet you yearn for it.
You feel you may have lost it in the last one.
And perhaps given time you could've had more of it with me.
No need to worry, child.
Rest your grieving mind.
I won't speak the word tonight.
I'll just hold you close and give you all of mine.

And I'll always be right here beside you,
Pull your frame out of the mud.
I'm still growin', I'm still changin'.
But I'm a good woman, here to catch you when you fall.

I'll always be a good woman at heart, I'll always be right here to break your fall.

in a good way (cause i'm not a country fan), this reads like a down to earth, truly heartfelt country song. it has that homely feel to it, that classic, pure love kinda vibe to it. kinda cute in a girly way...definitely playful and exploring another side of seago i think.
