days like this

by Peter Humphreys

beneath
the crystal snow
below
the azure sky
the rivers
run

some tiny
etched
as silver
streaks
traced by the sun
on Kippure's massive side

others broad
bubbling
gushing
along road
and
boreen
brown

all the world
is
watered
watering
water born
water bred

high above
the hawks fly
in open circles
windward
their prey
praying

down below
the lake of
Glenasmole
is taunted
by the
winds

if there is
a God in heaven
He would surely
be content
with days
like this

Hi Peter. Great to read you again. This is lovely, and I especially appreciate: "all the world/is/watered/watering/water born/water bred". It seems comforting, and protective as serous to embryo. Thanks.

I love "high above the hawks fly in open circles windward their prey praying". Hawks are so real they hunt for what they need and don't try to disguise it as anything else. Quite beautiful and be there a god he would truely be blessed to be there.

This reminds me of the writings of King David in the books of Psalm. Thougtful and reflective. Yes. God, angels and we people are happy for those days. Thanks for writing this! Its a great reminder to be thankful for creations beauty! ~N
