The Edge
by Steven CraigDiscovering the edge that you pass beyond, to know a different place
one with fruits of a different taste, the colors you have never seen before
To cross there takes your life and feelings with you
Bringing all your momentum bearing the mark so blue.
To hand them off to another in exchange for his control
To be forever warned that the edge holds more in its promise
Than the life had dictated in its fears that you now miss,
From sightless eyes the mind knows the touch of the loving kiss.
There is always the need to expect the unexpected
TO feel the warmth of having passed the last point you checked
To go beyond that edge of the map, past the last discovered star
To the place wise men, that lurking dragons are.
That thought, its moment in your mind forever, holds you there
Pushes you there, makes of your dreams places you have now seen
And you wonder how it was that only skin and bones had stopped you before
Now that you are standing so certain at the open door.
Yes, it is that place that you want to disappear into
Now to surface before your life had gone a full circle
Into an empty place you now fill with abundance
The sensations that will always make you dance.
