He came

by Keith D Allison

Promising to fill
the lonely chair within the room
with a morning light
a figure crouched in the corner
the room empty
nothing given, only touched
her body shivered
in the nakedness
the tear mourned in the existence

A sparse and haunting poem of disappointed hope and perhaps disillusionment. Striking use of symbolism.

Stark and sad....aware of the humanity of itself. This runs deeper than first impressions might imply....good poetry does that! Thanks.
