Beauty in Darkness

by Erin Jones

I see nothing but black
My eyes focus, I begin to see
Traces of white float within
Cascading, colliding... captivating
Beauty in its rarest form
Consisting of only imaginary colors
Compelling

Demanding my attention
My feet obediently stray
To the white foam rushing across
The black abyss beneath my feet
The white disc that floats in the sky
Lighting the true beauty perfectly
Mesmerizing

White glass shatters
Across black protrusions
Effectively swirling throughout my ears
Blocking all other sound
Holding me willingly captive
Beauty in its entirety
Enticing
