Wal-Mart is EVIL by Shonda ChrissonberryShe fears it almost as much
as a coming storm.....
That big ugly box on the horizon
teasing you
with a bright yellow smiley face
Driving in circles just to find
a slot to place your car
Then vying for an oversized silver
bucket to place all of your goodies
Then it is derby carts all the way
There's a sorry
Here's a sorry
Everyone is sorry
SORRY!!!
Go in for a couple of items
Come out with a couple plus 20
Wait in line to pay the fine
or give it a go at the
Self-serve humiliation
check-out station
Make sure to get the security
tags bleeped
or...
We're sorry...You have activated the
Wal-Mart security system, please step
back and an associate will be with
you momentarily.
To bad they don't hand out
free valium at the door
Might just make the whole
rendezvous worth it 03/04/2008 Author's Note: the prompt was ~ coming storm

| Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 03/05/08 at 04:20 AM Wal-Mart is one of the many reasons why I'll probably never quit smoking. Heh. Nice work. |
| Posted by Mary Frances Spencer on 03/05/08 at 06:22 AM The thought of going in there makes me feel sick! Amazing you made it through... MFS |

| Posted by George Hoerner on 03/05/08 at 10:30 PM Very nice Shandra. The "Self-serve humiliation
check-out station" is my wife's idea of insanity. I wonder if they have opened any stores in China yet? Really good write. |
| Posted by Joan Serratelli on 05/13/10 at 03:53 PM I wrote a few poems about "Walmart". It is EVIL. It is also like a computer virus. As soon as one closes; another one opens. I live about 1/2 mile away from a "Walmart". I HATE it in there. I feel like going there and playing with the shopping carts.
Incredible piece! |
