hurting by Charlie Morgana quantam smile was there;
the cold rain kept it in.
his two years growth: a shelter
of ignorance to cover his needs.
Jesusian hand: canopy of care
letting only warm love enter.
a living, hurting snapshot bronzed in my mind;
a mother silently argues with the rain and wind
while pushing her son, a blanket drinking rain. 03/03/2008 Author's Note: rarely do i use this spot...this morning in the cold rain i saw these two crossing downtown dallas' tram tracks and in the drizzle, me w/ a grandson-2 who doesn't have to deal w/ the elements...i am blessed but saddened...peace, charlie morgan

| Posted by Nicole D Gregory on 03/03/08 at 05:58 PM I could so feel the cold and sadness in my bones with this one. I at first thought you were talking about a statue out in the elements...like outside a church (mother/son - Mary/Jesus). It felt very somber at your perspective from both sides of life; but appreciate the heart that notices the love for family and community enough to write it down and remind us all that embracing everything around makes us better/humble. Much love and hugs to you. ~N |
