Ugly Girl

by Sarah Boom

I never knew I could feel so ugly
Without you saying a word
Its amazing how even unspoken thoughts
Never go unheard
I’ve never felt as ignorant
As I did tonight
As we turned a simple discussion
Into yet another fight
I used to think what we had was perfect
And then you started to change
And every time I mention it
Your heart fills up with rage
You begin to deny
That you were a different man
And still you pull away
At the slightest touch from my hand
What is happening now
Why are you pulling away
How can there be no conversations left
While I still have so much to say
Such an ugly girl
That’s how you’ve made me feel
You say it isn’t true
And you tell me to deal
Such an ugly girl
Hiding in the mirror
Please, Don't lie to me anymore
Because I know you too can see her

Author's Note: It's been a rough night. It's nothing fantastic, but its from the heart.

And that's what counts. This is fine work.
