a dream caravan

by Charlie Morgan

so many people have jumped off;
you're apt to realize friends.
they're the ones left.

they wear smelly clothes of care,
concern and have too big a heart;
fills their chests.

they wipe your tears with a soft grin
saying 'i already been there!'
i am a piece of cheese,

eat me, find substance, solace;
make me one with you and all.
i'm walking fast as i can.

slow the pace for megrandson
has short legs and struggles.
his mom turns; grins.

Hooked from the first stanza on this one chaz -- so poignant. I think about how many of my "best friends" from high school I've called lately, who have called me -- not many. Nice write, touching message about the narrowing tunnel of personal concern.
