"once i go crazy, nothing will be too forward." by Eli Skipp
and she writes to him out of a foxhole, "one of these days i'm going to go
crazy and take up residence in some barren corner of your bedroom." and he
replies, ever defeated and chivalrous, "you can have the bed and i'll take
the floor."
he would most likely be at home there; his floor, she knows, is a mess of
wires and cables like a great birds nest slowly collected for a mate who
maybe will one day learn how to translate its cells into basic and
electrical impulses.
"you're skinny," and he is -- due to some flaw in his belly-lining or
thyroid he has steadily dropped weight over the years until he barely
stands on knobbly knees and is lost in dress slacks -- "there is plenty of
room for both of us on your bed."02/24/2008 Author's Note: first poem of 2008. here we go.
