as I saw it last night
new peach fuzz on your top lip
your dress kahkis baggy
tie pulled loose, askew
jacket a size too big
little boy lost eyes
bringing a stinging
to eyes that have seen
this pain before
I lift you before
a majestic throne
where the Ancient of Days
your Father, Father of Lights
leans in to my plea
and I ask Him to let this day
be covered with His grace
and all the comforts
of His tenderest embrace
be yours
I cry as I'm crying out for you
that He do marvelous things
in your pain
that every loss, would see greater gain
We love you so much, Alex
You ARE special
beloved
you touch our hearts in a way
we can't explain
I ask Him to surround you
come upon you
in a new and special way
in this most horrific of days
when you say your goodbyes
I hope you feel our love
our prayers, our care
I hope you feel the presence
of heaven everywhere
you go from this day forward

Author's Note: Tears
Jarrod steering his and Alex's redneck project that had me in tears of laughter when I stepped out of the car after work one day. I told them they should ride it to school and took a couple of pictures to remember laughing til I hurt at their pride of accomplishment. They were NOT happy with my laughter.
