Psychedelic Blues

by Nancy Ames

"And do you remember
how angry she was
when you wouldn't admit
that you were really
Bob Dylan even though
millions of tiny angels
had told her so
and you were holding
the phone while snow
fell on the sand?"

Author's Note: Here I'm experimenting with the structure of four words to a line, with an implied pause between the lines.

Very interesting indeed. I'd call the experiment pretty successful.

yeah, it works well, though if you hadn't mentioned the pause after each line, I wouldn't necessarily have read it that way. Still, I like the one sentence nature of this poem, broken into short lines, and the way you express the content. It's pretty good.
