The Midnight Ensemble

by Danny Washington

The midnight ensemble's ready
Waiting to count us in
They're not bothering with drums
They're gonna bang on emtpy tins

They don't want to be in tune
As they strum on dirty strings
They don't want us all to groove
They all just do their own thing

The conducter is a drunk
And finds it difficult to stand
But if there's one thing that he loves
It's his rusty midnight band

They come together every night
A jam out their dreary songs
They don't care is noone comes
Or if someone gets it wrong

Well, I'm sold. Heh. This is great, man. Let me know when the whole thing's up.
