Crazy

by Alisa Js

it was in the back of my mind
behind the shadow of the overturned objection
always waiting, anticipating
your next move
and I wasn't wrong
I never am

don't you see the obvious, as I do
apparently not
for I see all
you can't run nor hide much longer
from the truth between your eyes
those golden eyes that lead us onward
to that promised land
of maybe

lay me down to sleep in fields of never meant to be
all I've known for centuries
it's the same old song
played against the grain of hopeful whims of one day soon
laughing all the way
on this road of empty glares ...

You've really touched a nerve with this one Alisa -- a very beautiful read. Hanging on someone else's next move is a terribly lonely place to be. Wonderfully expressed.

"behind the shadow of the overturned objection"! I love that line. Very well done. Nice write.
