Remembering,

by Leslie Ann Eisenberg

over the sweet foam
of my vanilla coffee cup
Darling, I drink you in

Your eyes, deep as sun dappled sea,
Brimming with life and just a hint of mischief

I’m enchanted by the name of your scent
Wine, Cinnamon, Sand, Seduction

Warmed by the gentle spice of your breath,
the sweetness of your kiss, I hunger
for your soft, succulent lips to linger

I’m memorizing every inch of you

Your broad, carved shoulders cascade
to sinewy arms, steady fingers caress,
explore, clasp my breasts to your face

Tingling, my fingertips recall
the feral arch of your back
Thighs, statues of nimble steel
grip me in sultry embrace

The rough side of your tongue
an electric current, your teeth
Taking my neck, now
Taking my breath your
Toes taking my mind
To outer space

Long after, you stay with me
in this decadent daydream
I still feel you stroking my
hair as I lick the last drop from this
warm cup, savoring the gaze, the taste,
the feel, the memory of you
