a valentine grows

by Charlie Morgan

a face to wash
other than her own,
a new red mark,
new bruise, worries.

then

a reach from below:
empty, expectant, filling.
tiny fingers clasp hungrily
for his Mama's warm love.

a two yr. old valentine grows.
