[...]

by Michelle Floyd

when i see you -
all the blood rushes to my
hard, parochial knees and my
high heels split at the soles.
my rayon skirt - tethers at my insteps -
a lost dominion of seams
to the bureaucracy of my skin.
when i see you -
my heart stills in its bone-thread
chassis -
if the entropy of my eyes
covering the milestones of your body
sired vehemence to the core of us.
a pause-fire, a sullen rush, my bipedal towers
leaning into your canopy.
i would scale you like the vitosha
trembling mouth-scraped into the
black sea.
your nerves a helical ladder -
your mouth my finality
where i would bend and
nail my colors to your mast.
i would bury my love for you naked
into the dust of where we come anew
every time i would allow
the half-mooned eyes of me to
encompass every inch of you.
