She was beautiful in a way

That I could never fathom.

In a fashion that I knew

I would never have her.

I watched, caught her eye,

She smiled.

Such a pretty smile

From lips I knew

That I would never kiss.

I mused, amused,

Perusing a thought

Or two of her

Without garment,

Void of anything

That would get in the way

Of what I wanted today.
