[Library] This Digital Age

by Nikki Rice

In this, the digital age,
clocks no longer tick.
Batteries no longer
flip numbered cards,
telling us when to rise
and when to sleep.
Shadows and suns
are nothing of consequence
in this, the digital age.

Without these concretes,
everything is internalized.
Everything is internalized.
Everything is internalized.

"Shadows and suns are nothing of consequence in this, the digital age" - My favorite lines. Very true too. Internalized could be our downfall... Or maybe we've already fallen. Who can say? Anyway, very well said; great piece.
