touching everything
falling in love
with nothing
at all

watching souls yield
to see what may or
may not happen
next

yes, i am as
empty as this
dried leaves
leave no
meaning
to grasp

no voice left to
whisper their
goodbyes

and my heart
cries but for what
reasons i've since
left behind

even you can not
look back over your
shoulder and promise

it was worth it.
