[Library] Long Overdue by Nikki RiceThe bathroom floor was where I fell to cry;
he was the only one I wanted to cling to.
Instead, I got you.
Soaked in blood and nothing new,
words were spoken against me,
against my nature, with which you wish you werent familiar.
Shouting, hugging, letting the words dissolve,
my body crumpled into yours, as grand as the Taj.
You softened and asked me not to say adieu.
We were only just beginners.
Each of us had it,"
all knowing and all seeing for our purposes below,
keen to only our own needs on high.
Eventually, you allowed me to rest with my anima,
sending her to bed with only a memory of upset;
tired, tired, from too many foci.
Mothering me now, mothering me then,
overwhelmed, but not ready to let go of me.
Maybe Ill remember to thank you next time,
even after I lose my head.
No friendship has been more pure
than this one I nearly left for dead.
