an everyday housewife by Lalo Kikirikinine in the morning,
the kids off to school
second cup of coffee and the day creaks
into gear...
into the screeching
infinite possibilities
reality lumbers
on dinosaur thighs
and where is the sylph that
started this manuscript?
where is the goddess that
sketched the design
for the half-finished canvases
stacked in the basement?
goddam self-portrait
howls from the mirror
time paralyzes
stiffens her fingers
when did mortality
seep into her bones?
