I Come, I Push, I Take, I Leave

by Barry Franklin

I come,

in fury of breath
with fire I sing
to your fragile ears
I sing of a death

I push,

on you all my pain
as if you could hold
the weight of my world
on your tiny frame

I take,

what you should have kept
to make you complete
the pieces of you
the tears that you wept

I leave,

the mark of my scar
your happy in ruin
not one thing untouched
have I gone too far?
