when i say you’re cute
you think that’s cute
but you have no idea
what i mean

you think that i speak
from my heart
and my eyes can’t see past
my love

but that’s not true
i see what you are
     i see YOU

and you don’t know
you won’t believe
how cute to me
is more than beautiful
so much more than pretty,
attractive, or sexy

it’s the only word that i know
to describe
the allure of your essence
the creation and destruction
     of you

i wrap it all up
in a four letter word
but it’s just
an imaginary package
it could never hold the
     everything
that is you

you will never know the meaning
as well as i know
   the blessing
that you are as you are mine

i think you’re cute
and you think that’s fine

i guess that’s fine
