afghan truth.

by Meghan Helmich

what is your charade?
masqueraded truth under
unfinished afghans.
partly viewed in patches of
thick yarn and wooden closures.

Your imagery always strikes me with painful accuracy. A tangled web of yarn cannot camouflage what the spinster fools himself into believing. Upon reading the title I thought this was going to be about dogs, then I realized it is. Digging holes to cover the truth like a bone in the backyard, but the blanket is full of holes and a lie is still a lie no matter how loud it's barked.. JJ
