Alone in Wonderland

by Elizabeth Hoadley

i see
the old trees
growing
with new leaves
falling

i hear
snow flakes
gentley descending
and i breathe
the electricity
from their simplicity

still, quiet
from
the frantic
and the lucid
interruptions of
daily life

i feel
privileged
and honored
to know these
wonders in spite
of my
on going strife

thus i see
i hear
and i feel
only me

i am strong
and complete
but obsolete
to those
who indulge
in infinite speed

isolated
by the
frustrated,

i sit

watching
waiting
for someone
to quit,
and stop...
to hear the def
to see the blinded
to feel the rain numbing
in all reality
but most
of all

to live

with all
the world
and me

I like the hope in this. Very nicely, very quietly captured.
