Deceitful

by Sarah Boom

The words you said to me
Were never so believable
I've lost myself in you
You've lost yourself in lies

A creature of habit
Is what you call yourself
You can't destroy your vices
And I cannot accept them

Tears flow freely down my face
Mascara stains that I cannot hide
You ask me whats wrong
But deep down, you know

I've found your secret stash again
I've lost all trust in you
My heart was made of fragile glass
Mercilessly, you've just shattered it

I cannot go on living this way
Knowing that false girls, and internet sites
Are what you're holding onto
During each of my sleepless nights

I can no longer be second best
To a world that doesn't deserve your heart
I can't go on pretending
That I'm not torn apart inside

My bags are sitting by the door
The car awaits out front
I'm ready to say goodbye
I was never quite good enough

The words you said to me
Were never so believable
I lost myself in you
And you lost yourself, in lies...
