You Never Asked but I Gave it to You Anyway

by Megan Guimbellot

Oh damn you and your subtle ways, how I catch you staring from across the room, drink in hand,..your restless fingers brushing the hair from my eyes
Oh, I've known you always and before//felt your breath on my neck at midnight and your smile in the sunlight(if only for an instant)))
And I would beg you to stay,,rest those weary hands on the bare of my skin and be still for just one moment((its quiet here)
But you never listen to a thing my eyes might say and right now I can't seem to find my voice because you're standing way too close(too close)

too
close/to
speak

So I'll hold your eyes in mine and anything else you have to offer in my hands and since I can't speak I think I'll just breathe you in...

Obviously, I love how you've put this thing together. Very, very nicely done. And I'd say you've definitely got the language and imagery to back it up.
