Passwords

by Jared Orlando

If you meant even something to me
I guess I’d let you in.
I might let the air in slightly through these windows
To toss your dark, flowing hair.
If you held a place in my heart
I think you would feel me.
It is already so hard to breathe
I can only scream your presence.
If I insisted that you belonged
In this weary arms I carry
I wouldn’t even question
How close is too close.
If I made up my mind to let you
Be something, just anything to me
I don’t think it would be like
Cutting teeth.
If I destroyed these brittle walls
That I protect with timid veins
To let you climb over the ruin
I suppose would be permissible.
But I worry that as of now
My questions create more questions
And it is true that I am a liar
And I have already let you in.

I like that line from the comment. I almost wish it was in this thing. Very nice work.

you said...."My questions create more questions And it is true that I am a liar And I have already let you in." I liked that...I think you got the last word for sure. Good job. Welcome to Pathetic!
