I wake up in the land of opportunity

Hoping that the day will be better

Than all of the ones before.

I spring forth out of bed, the trap is sprung

Waiting on the exact moment when I can

Seize the day.

In this land that I now dwell

My heart hangs loosely on my sleeve.

This is the way that I believe

Has become my life.

I just don't understand

What I am supposed to do.

Yet I wake every day

In the land of opportunity.

The alternative to waking

Is the road I am not willing to travel.
