speaking when youre angry; regretting what you're saying

by Nanette Bellman

fumbling forwards and bumbling backwards
tongue tied by the blind side
of practicing the pronunciation
and altering the alliteration
making faces in the mirror
while clarifying what needs clearer
to perfect the perfect speech
that a person could possibly speak
but the brainwaves just go blank
when the moment's come to make
the special delivery of the day
of saying what you've got to say
living like there's nothing left
repeating what one could regret
.....because you just told me to go fuck myself

yes in deed! well said...i say all my heated words in the car as i am driving around town. it usually cools me off enough that i don't say something i'll regret later.
