My Heart Smiles

by Joe Cramer

There is a way that the shoe fits

Into the heel, so elegantly, so fine.

Tapered so slightly, so rightly

That envelops the mind.

I would glance upon that beauty

As it poised so delicately before me.

My eyes glazed over at the shape,

It was all that I could see.

It is not every day that such a sweet

Sight of such certain age is so viewed,

My vision is so enraptured as it

Remains within my sight, thoughts skewed.

I long to see such a vision,

it is all that I am thinking of now,

Just to have such beauty before me.

My heart smiles, and how.

Author's Note: I love the sight of a mature woman's foot in a beautiful shoe....
