My demon de midi has never struck,

this demon at noon, this midlife crisis.

I think perhaps I was making love at the time,

Or maybe just off reading a book.

I know what I should do,

Or exactly what I should say.

I guess I'll keep shuffling along

And let the words not get in the way.
