Seasighs

by Don Matley

Seasighs

I think it was an ocean
Which helped me
To forget
At least I think
It was
I cannot remember
But I do recall
The mossy seaweed by her shores
Her gentle foam-tipped waves
Which cushioned and caressed
My mind from consciousness
And I recall the ripples of her sheltered bay,
Moist ripples shaping
The sea’s salty-sweet utterances
Ripples brushing my lips
Sweet nectar
Sweet ambrosia
To my very soul.

This really reads like a gentle sigh. The whole sense of it as a soft exhale. Very good.
