Dragging

by Joe Cramer

Dragging out all of the Christmas decorations

Climbing into the attic, crawling through the garage.

Boxes of bows, cartons of paper,

Tissues, plastic snowflakes, lights and such.

Bringing in all of these holiday decorations.

Plugging in the lights to test them.

Did this go here or there last year?

Hanging the ornaments on the tree,

Placing an angel on top.

Sliding the garland down the banister

While attaching timers to the lights.

They twinkle, sparkle, going off and on.

Sit back and say "ahhh."
