On an Afternoon by Paganini Jones
1 Kings 17:6
winter
monochrome day
granite sky
dull clouds
grizzled grass
hoary path
dark woods
leaden tree
indistict faces
grey thoughts
faded sun
black bird
yellow beak
a crow?
flies above
rattles branches
scatters frost
drops bread
in communion
Elijah
in his wilderness
chooses life
goes on
over stone
and mire
to find
purpose in
silence
