thoughts by Mary Frances Spencerlike rope
twisted
hands drop
dusty words
onto the endless
prairie
time
would
should
could
have
or not
if only
next time
once more
never again
wishes
wild horses
running forward
circling behind
decide
harness the
now
and
ride

Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 12/30/07 at 06:30 AM I really love "ride" of the "now" in this poem! |
Posted by Tony Whitaker on 12/30/07 at 09:38 AM For some reason this plays out on two lines of thought for me. One takes me back to the three years I spent in the desert Southweast with your "twisted rope" and "wild horses" metaphor. The other is the struggle with the concept of time... I liked berry, berry much MFS!! |
Posted by Sigurdur Haraldsson on 12/30/07 at 10:19 AM Yes! This is the untamed mind and how it goes.
I was trying to decide what my favorite part is but it is all so good, every word of it, every thought (lol). I could keep on reading it and reading it. Thanks, MFS. |
