cold feet (haiku)

by Kathleen Wilson

cold feet
51st new year
I find my matching sock

ink and watercolor and collage on handmade paper
photocopies of block prints from haiku poet's card

12/25/2007

Author's Note: This is #6 of 60 haiku and art works I am handmaking in response to other poets. An amusing aspect of this is that the poet wrote about this being her 50th new years eve, and she is darning a sock with no match! She sent me two cards by mistake. So I amplified this coincidence by photocopying two of each of her block prints, and making a collage, with two socks and the block print figures who might wear them... on the inside of the card, surrounding my response haiku.

I just love this! Makes me smile and think, with empathy, of my sock drawer... lovely themes from a lovely lady.
