tell me

by Charlie Morgan

a day, a life; a yard of peonies.
much more, much less, much much.
a Chinaman's been up for hours,
scrounging his living in yen.
me: gouging the very eyes
of the hungry cyclops,
keeping a glass eye
in my shirt pocket.
lint piles up.
making it
hard to
see
the lattice work of tomorrow.
