EroticSaurous Rex

by Elizabeth Seago

Our bodies glistened
With sweat and saliva and
A hint of lovelust.

For a weekend, the world didn't recognize us.

And oh, our bodies worked together
Mastering beautiful art
That could never be duplicated,
Explained.

And now our skin harbors the harsh burn

Of distance ; separation.
Uncertainty and lack of destination.

I can still taste the beads of affection
That fled from your face and landed on my
Tongue.

Every time I had beckoned you
To linger inside of me
Your eyes were so raw-
What a pleasant sight to see.
