her chest soaked him in

by Carissa Dewey

her chest soaked him in
causing his pool to evaporate so
into her breasts
where three white flowers
began to sprout
and as their stems grew
thick and their petals
wide
upon them each eye
watched as they made a home
but behind her eyes
her mind
became pale
because their stems
beneath her skin
split many times-
in a behavior recorded
in the dark
to her heart
carved many hearts
creating a gulf of separates

and as the voids between
became acquainted
the design it took
hurled to her tongue

adding this to my favorites - it is an unexpected gem. the title drew me in for its possibilities; and it never let up.
