Sonlove

by Maria Massarella

oh! quanto è più facile
scriverti in un respiro
avvolgerti in un abbraccio!

oh! how easier it is to
write you in a breath
wrap you in an embrace!

words escape me language
surfaces in the light I wear
when my gaze caresses yours

In effortless adoration your
Sonlove robes me - Is there
Mother more blessed

when you sip at my well
I know what it is to be water
flow to nurture you -

ambrosial your sweetness
honeys my motherheart - we
speak the purest love

white its flame merges
with air in one soul
I feel your Spirit

ancient

and you have said this
of me too - that you feel
you have always known me

loved me in other lives
timeless and I can feel it
this agelessness of you

it is there in the unseen
in the unspoken and I
shall return to gather words

clocks tick mine says we are
minutes away from your

twenty-third birthday
(eight minutes away)
I need continue my thoughts

in kitchenspace that your
pranzo may be ready when
you come home to lunch

Beautiful. You've got such a gift for simple, effective imagery that speaks as loud as anything could hope to.

What a lovely statement of a mother's love, straight from the soul. How beautiful is the scene you painted for us and allowed us a peek for this moment in time....aloha and thank you, Maria.....;-)

Maria, the beauty of the love between you and Antonio is just so heatwarming. Each of you are lucky to have the other - there's is no inequality here. Beautiful!

I adore this beyond what words can convey. It's how I feel about my son and grandsons also and that birthday is mentioned and December 17 is also my birthday thrilled me. I came to this folder expecting springtime poetry and found such a delightful suprise!!! Beautiful!
