sorbet

by Mary Frances Spencer

tonight
lemon moon
is smiling

a slice
tossed brightly
against the black

and all the stars are out too
sparkling clear drops
of hope

my eyes lift
heart and soul follow
constellations lead
myriad planets

they all pull
spinning this moment
a zesty winter’s night

leading me
home

I love this visual poem about the night sky and the meter captures each moment in your line breaks and stanzas. Excellent!

Love the sorbet image!... "lemon moon" is visual and suggestive both. Sounds like a flavor! Anf the "zesty" mix--of night and after thoughts... a lovely dessert!
