too heavy

by Mary Frances Spencer

mind on mind
double the weight
intellectual philosophical
drag down
a rolling metal door
the death grip
only gets tighter
each year another
iron link
chaining
you to that
black ball
of fear

if only
the weightless ethereal
could spiral together
radiate fiery
white
unlimited light

life transforming
infinite streams
unconditional
sweet feathers
of
possibility
