So Quietly at the Beach

by Joe Cramer

I sit so quietly, alone at the beach

My mind in such pain, thoughts out of reach.

There was so much I wanted to do, to say.

It will not happen once again, today.

In contemplative, meditative state, my trance

When my weary mind begs me to rise and dance.

Alone, in my moroseful solitude, I am saddened,

A heart, forever vanquished, never gladdened.

Oh. This is too sad, and it won't always be this way.
