warming

by Mary Frances Spencer

another chilly
night

like ice
glacier walls
between
the same light falls
on frosted breath
so many
cold shoulders

and we curl up
tightly shielding
the vital
lonely bears
asleep
deep in
the frozen

just a glow
dawn directed
softly melt
arms and gather
the awakening

global souls
warming

up
