sound of tears

by Mary Frances Spencer

late rain
crooked gutters choking
leaves

dark dripping
mind rolling puddles down
the street

i swirl
midnight angst
in tea

soon sleep
to sound
of tears on roof

hope dream
sweet warm
embrace
of
you

fabulous! I love the rain (I even love tea) and this is a fine poetic tribute--even the title is great!...loved: "crooked gutters choking" AND "dark dripping/ mind rolling puddles down/ the street" AND "i swirl/ midnight angst/ in tea"...this poem is very strong overall: concise and playful words, illustrative and creative imagery where employed...last stanza felt more abstract than the other stanzas, but a favorite of mine nonetheless...just one person's interpretation, hope not too forward...peace, *jewels*

I liked the phrase "tears on roof" that IS just what a gentle rain sounds like on my roof. Nice!
