december's holding fast to winter's hem
trying to reason with a forgotten fall.

Samoans in all Samoa, still have Margaret's
signature of a life fulfilled in discovery .
a breath that cascades over destiny's reach
blends into the life-blood of all creatures.

and one leaf's dropping becomes Rome's fall;
a twig's snap a photo of Napoleon's Waterloo.
little to large, tectonic plates offering-up
tomorrow's landscapes, hopes and family hugs.
